Pak-China all weather friend­ship is time tested

IS­LAM­ABAD: The Speaker Na­tional Assem­bly Asad Qaiser has said that ex­em­plary friend­ship be­tween Pak­istan and China based on the strong foun­da­tion of mu­tual trust, re­spect, strong strate­gic part­ner­ship and eco­nomic vi­able co­op­er­a­tion.

He said all-weather friend­ship be­tween two friends is time tested. He ex­pressed th­ese views while talk­ing to 15 mem­ber del­e­ga­tion of Na­tional Peo­ple’s Con­gress of China (NPC) which met him un­der the lead­er­ship of Vice Chair­man of the Stand­ing Com­mit­tee of NPC Mr. Zhang Chunx­ian at Par­lia­ment House on Fri­day.

The Speaker said that closed in­ter­ac­tion be­tween the Par­lia­ments of two coun­tries the ex­ist­ing friendly re­la­tions can be fur­ther strength­ened. He said the re­sult of the re­cent visit of Prime Min­is­ter Im­ran Khan to China will be proved long last­ing.

He said co­op­er­a­tion be­tween two coun­tries would be fur­ther en­hanced by im­ple­men­ta­tion of agree­ments dur­ing this visit. He said with the trans­fer of tech­nol­ogy and estab­lish­ment of eco­nomic zone from China, the em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties will gen­er­ated and the stan­dard of lives of the peo­ple of Pak­istan will be in­creased.

Asad Qaiser said that China- Pak Eco­nomic Cor­ri­dor (CPEC) will be proved gate­way for de­vel­op­ment and pros­per­ity of the re­gion. He said that Pak­istan wanted early com­ple­tion of CPEC project. He said China have got re­spectable place in comity of na­tions by its achieve­ments. He fur­ther said that Pak­istan wanted to take ben­e­fits from Chi­nese ex­pe­ri­ences. The Speaker stressed the need for equal op­por­tu­ni­ties for both the coun­tries in bi­lat­eral trade.

He as­sured that Pak-China friend­ship Group in the Na­tional Assem­bly will be re­ac­ti­vated soon to strength­en­ing re­la­tions be­tween the Par­lia­ments of both the coun­tries. He also ex­tended in­vi­ta­tion to Chair­man NPC to visit Pak­istan.

Con­grat­u­lat­ing on the be­half of Par­lia­ment and Gov­ern­ment of China to Asad Qaiser on as­sum­ing the port­fo­lio of Speaker Na­tional Assem­bly of Pak­istan, the Vice Chair­man Stand­ing Com­mit­tee of NPCMr. Zhang Chunx­ian said that China give great im­por­tance to its friendly re­la­tions with Pak­istan and con­sid­ered it strate­gic part­ner.

He said the lead­er­ship of both the coun­tries was com­mit­ted to bring the re­la­tions be­tween Pak­istan and China to new heights.

He said that closed in­ter­ac­tions be­tween Par­lia­ments of both the coun­tries would pro­vide op­por­tu­ni­ties to the Par­lia­men­tar­i­ans to ben­e­fit from each other ex­po­sures. The del­e­ga­tion termed the re­cent visit of Prime Min­is­ter very suc­cess­ful.

They were of the view that the agree­ments signed be­tween the two coun­tries dur­ing this visit will prove fruit­ful for the peo­ple of both the coun­tries.

The Vice Chair­man Stand­ing Com­mit­tee NPC said that China wanted to see Pak­istan a pros­per­ous and de­vel­oped Pak­istan and as­sured all out sup­port for its eco­nomic and so­cial de­vel­op­ment.
