KARACHI: La­hore recorded a con­vinc­ing five-wicket win against their Karachi coun­ter­parts in Pepsi-PCB Stars U-16 One Day Tour­na­ment at Iqbal Sta­dium in Faisal­abad.

Karachi bat­ted first in the Su­per Six round match and put on board

43.2 overs with five wick­ets in hand. Shaw­ish Irfan bat­ted well for the side scor­ing 56 off 71 balls. Hafiz Us­man

(31not out) and Ibrar Afzaal (29 runs) also bat­ted well for the side. Hasan Khalid and Aliyan Mehmood picked two wick­ets each.

Mean­while, at Faraz Sports Ground in Sialkot, Faisal­abad U-16 trounced Hy­der­abad U-16 by nine wick­ets – thanks to Mo­ham­mad Waqas for his un­beaten 99-run knock . Aakash Hus­sain con­trib­uted 49 runs for the win­ning team.
