SC orders AC to announce decision on NAB references against Nawaz Sharif till Dec 24
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has directed Accountability Court (AC) to announce decision on NAB references against Nawa z Sharif till December 24.
SC while fixing the application of A C judge for immediate hearing summoned Khawaja Haris, counsel for Nawaz Sharif Friday.
A 3-member bench of SC took up the case for hearing.
At the inception of hearing CJP inquired from Khawaja Haris, arguments have reached upto what level in both references. There is time for arguments. You have held the entire nation and judiciary as hostage. Why are you delaying the matter. What kind of a big lawyer are you . If you can not complete the work in time then don’t take up the cases. You should complete your argument within stipulated time.
Khawaja Haris said “I am not a big lawyer. Has some one complained that we are prolonging the matter. If it seems to like this then I quit the case. To my view point, it is improper to say that I am prolonging the matter. My energy level is not like your energy level. If court says so then I quit the case.
CJP remarked “your attitude is like this that you get angry over every matter and boycott. You had objection over giving arguments on Saturday and Sunday. Do you know how I work. You are talking of leaving the case. I will not allow my judiciary to be ruined. Tell us when you will conclude your arguments.
