Chil­dren’s Ben­e­fit Concert 2018

KARACHI: A “Chil­dren’s Ben­e­fit Concert” was held on Dec. 6th at the PAF Mu­seum grounds to com­mem­o­rate In­ter­na­tional Day of Per­sons with Dis­abil­ity. 4,000 un­der­priv­i­leged and dis­abled chil­dren from over 40 in­sti­tu­tions and schools in Karachi were the VIP guests. The event was or­ga­nized by Fam­ily Ed­u­ca­tional Ser­vices Foun­da­tion (FESF) spon­sored by KFC, Pak­istan.

The goal of this yearly event is to pro­vide a mem­o­rable ex­pe­ri­ence for chil­dren who do not other­wise have such op­por­tu­ni­ties. It also cre­ates an in­clu­sive sit­u­a­tion as chil­dren who are “dif­fer­entlyabled” min­gle with main- stream chil­dren. TV Host Faizan Haqqee launched the 3 hour event which fea­tured ex­cit­ing live per­for­mances by spe­cial guest artists Fu­zon and Shazia Khushk. Ad­di­tion­ally, a mime artist, Muneeb-urRehman and a blind singer, Ra­hat en­ter­tained the chil­dren with fun and mean­ing­ful per­for­mances.

The guests praised the ef­forts of the or­ga­niz­ers to pro­vide a mem­o­rable and in­clu­sive event for these chil­dren.

Over 100 vol­un­teers from lo­cal schools and col­leges worked tire­lessly to seat the chil­dren and to serve them com­pli­men­tary snacks and drinks dur­ing the concert. The event con­sist­ing of over 4,000 chil­dren was very well or­ga­nized with great at­ten­tion given to the chil­dren be­ing served and taken care of.
