KARACHI: United Arab Emi­rates beat Bangladesh by 97-runs in the Emerg­ing Teams Asia Cup at Southend Club Cricket Sta­dium, Karachi.

UAE, bat­ting first, posted a to­tal of 267 in 49.4 overs. Ash­faq Ahmed was un­lucky to miss out on a cen­tury af­ter be­ing dis­missed off 98 runs off 93 de­liv­er­ies.

Ro­han Mustafa made 40 off 70 de­liv­er­ies while Shaiman An­war chipped in with his knock of 34.

Shori­ful Is­lam was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, fin­ish­ing with fig­ures of 4-55 in 10 overs. Khaled Ahmed took three wick­ets.

The Bangladesh side, chas­ing a tar­get of 268, were bowled out for 170 runs in 36.5 overs.
