Sindh police to hold blood donation camps
KARACHI: Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Dr Kaleem Imam on Friday stressed the need of coordinated efforts to eliminate thalassaemia from society and pledged to hold blood donation camps in each districts of the Sindh province to provide blood to thalassaemia suffering children.
He expressed these views during visit to a Blood Donation Camp organised by Sindh Police in collaboration with Omair Sana Foundation (OSF) at Police Headquarter Saudabad.
DIG East Aamir Farooqui, SSP Dr Qamar Rizvi, General Secretary OSF Dr Saqib Hussain Ansari, Dr Rahat Hussain and other present on this occasion.
IG Sindh appreciated the East Zone Police for organising a blood donation camp with collaboration with Omair Sana Foundation and saying that organizations working for providing blood to thalassaemia suffering children and elimination of this blood disease through public awareness need support from all stakeholders of society.
He said Sindh Police will hold blood donation camps across the Sindh province to minimize the miseries of thalassaemia suffering children through contribution. He urged the all stakeholders of the society to come forward to support thalassaemia patients.
General Secretary Omair Sana Foundation Dr Saqib Ansari said thalassaemia is alarmingly spreading in Pakistan which is matter of concern for authorities concerned.
