Sindh po­lice to hold blood do­na­tion camps

KARACHI: In­spec­tor Gen­eral Po­lice (IGP) Sindh Dr Kaleem Imam on Fri­day stressed the need of co­or­di­nated ef­forts to elim­i­nate tha­las­saemia from so­ci­ety and pledged to hold blood do­na­tion camps in each dis­tricts of the Sindh prov­ince to pro­vide blood to tha­las­saemia suf­fer­ing chil­dren.

He ex­pressed these views dur­ing visit to a Blood Do­na­tion Camp or­gan­ised by Sindh Po­lice in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Omair Sana Foun­da­tion (OSF) at Po­lice Head­quar­ter Saud­abad.

DIG East Aamir Fa­rooqui, SSP Dr Qamar Rizvi, Gen­eral Sec­re­tary OSF Dr Saqib Hus­sain An­sari, Dr Ra­hat Hus­sain and other present on this oc­ca­sion.

IG Sindh ap­pre­ci­ated the East Zone Po­lice for or­gan­is­ing a blood do­na­tion camp with col­lab­o­ra­tion with Omair Sana Foun­da­tion and say­ing that or­ga­ni­za­tions work­ing for pro­vid­ing blood to tha­las­saemia suf­fer­ing chil­dren and elim­i­na­tion of this blood dis­ease through pub­lic aware­ness need sup­port from all stake­hold­ers of so­ci­ety.

He said Sindh Po­lice will hold blood do­na­tion camps across the Sindh prov­ince to min­i­mize the mis­eries of tha­las­saemia suf­fer­ing chil­dren through con­tri­bu­tion. He urged the all stake­hold­ers of the so­ci­ety to come for­ward to sup­port tha­las­saemia pa­tients.

Gen­eral Sec­re­tary Omair Sana Foun­da­tion Dr Saqib An­sari said tha­las­saemia is alarm­ingly spreading in Pak­istan which is mat­ter of con­cern for au­thor­i­ties con­cerned.
