Tourists throng to North­ern ar­eas as snow­fall con­tin­ues

IS­LAM­ABAD: Amid new spell of rain and snow­fall that started yes­ter­day in parts of coun­try, weather has turned chilly while Pak­istan Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal De­part­ment ( PMD) on Fri­day has pre­dicted more rain and snow­fall.

A fresh west­erly wave is likely to en­ter western parts of the coun­try to­day ( evening/ night) and to grip dif­fer­ent parts of Coun­try.

Ear­lier, light rain in dif­fer­ent parts of La­hore and its ad­ja­cent ar­eas on Thurs­day night turned the weather chilly.

Fol­low­ing the rain with snow­fall at one or two places in Ko­hat, Pe­shawar di­vi­sions and Gil­git- Baltistan, tourists have gath­ered in North­ern ar­eas to en­joy snow­fall. Ac­cord­ing to PMD, Rain ( with snow­fall over the hills) is ex­pected at scat­tered places in Malakand, Hazara, Pe­shawar, Ko­hat, Mar­dan, Sar­godha, Gu­jran­wala, Fais­labad, Rawalpindi, La­hore di­vi­sions, Is­lam­abad, Gil­git-Baltistan and Kash­mir, while at iso­lated places in Bannu, D. I khan, D. G. Khan, Mul­tan, Ba­hawalpur, Sahi­wal and Sukkur di­vi­sions. Partly cloudy weather with light rain/ driz­zle at few places is also ex­pected along Sindh-Makran coast in­clud­ing Karachi.
