10,000 ve­hi­cles checked in road check­ing drive

KARACHI: Sindh Min­is­ter for Ex­cise and Tax­a­tion & Nar­cotics Con­trol Mukesh Ku­mar Chawla Sun­day asked the own­ers of the tax de­fault­ing ve­hi­cles to pay their due taxes to avoid any un­to­ward sit­u­a­tion on the roads as the Sindh Ex­cise De­part­ment's road check­ing cam­paign would con­tinue till 15th Jan­uary.

To fa­cil­i­tate the tax pay­ers, ex­tra coun­ters had been set up at Civic Cen­tre in Karachi, he said in a state­ment. In a brief­ing, Direc­tor Gen­eral Ex­cise and Tax­a­tion De­part­ment Shab­bir Ahmed Shaikh told Chawla re­gard­ing on­go­ing cam­paign that 10,000 ve­hi­cles had been checked across the prov­ince and the cam­paign was in full swing. He also ex­pressed his hope that the de­part­ment would achieve its tar­get of tax col­lec­tion.
