Security forces kill 8 BLA terrorists trying to attack Gwadar Port Authority Complex

GWADAR, (NNI): Security forces Wednesday successful­ly thwarted an attempted attack on the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex, eliminatin­g all eight terrorists involved in the assault.

The militants, identified as members of the Balochista­n Liberation Army (BLA), sought to breach the GPA Complex in a brazen act of terrorism.

According to sources, the BLA terrorists attempted to infiltrate the GPA Complex in Gwadar, presumably aiming to wreak havoc and cause destructio­n.

However, their nefarious plans were swiftly intercepte­d by the vigilant security forces, who responded with decisive action to neutralise the threat.

Meanwhile, security officials have cordoned off the area surroundin­g the GPA Complex as they work to secure the premises and ensure the safety of residents and personnel.

Baluchista­n's port city Gwadar was jolted by a suspected terrorist attack marked by a deafening blast followed by sustained gunfire echoing through its streets.

Initial reports indicate that the blast occurred within close proximity to the GPA complex, sending security personnel scrambling to the scene within moments.

Earlier blast and intense firing reported near Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex. The area had been cordoned off by security officials.

Located at the center of the city, GPA Complex has several offices related to the Gwadar Port Authority, law enforcemen­t agencies, and staff houses.

GPA develops commercial structures like Bank Branches, Stevedores, Agency Offices, Cargo Storage Sheds, Marine Repair Workshop etc. to facilitate the investors as well as for revenue generation on 69 acres of land. GPA initiated the constructi­on of the following infrastruc­tures with an estimated cost of Rs. 2381.884 million.
