Food delivery boy becomes latest victim of Karachi ‘fearless’ robbers

KARACHI, (NN): Another precious life became a victim of robbery resistance in the port city of Karachi taking the tally of citizens who were killed during robbery resistance­s to 41.

A food delivery boy was shot dead in Gulistan Johar. Citizens and passersby nabbed the bandits tortured the bandit involved in the incident and killed one bandit.

The 31-year-old Ali Rehbar, a resident of Johar Chowrangi delivery boy was supporting the household by delivering food.

After the incident, the police reached the spot. Three accomplice­s of the accused fled from the spot. The family of the victim appealed to the government for justice According to the police, a citizen named Irfan was injured in the incident. Nine mm pistol and 30-bore shells were recovered from the crime scene.

After the incident, SHO Sharah-eFaisal Raja Tariq was immediatel­y suspended.

Sindh government officials said government have been trying to cope up with the ongoing law and order situation. Pakistan People's Party (PPP) MNA Nasir Hussain Shah said that there should not be a single incident of street crimes, the Chief Minister also called a meeting regarding street crimes.

He further said that strict actions will be taken against anyone who is negligent regarding performing their duties.

Another government official Sardar shah revealed that the law-and-order situation was not at all good during the caretaker government tenure.

Street crimes are increasing day by day and the local police have failed to protect the local citizens.

Sindh Assembly opposition members put blame on police for uptick in robbery incidents.
