Govt, semi-govt in­sti­tu­tions wit­ness low at­ten­dance

ISLAMABAD—The gov­ern­ment, semi-gov­ern­ment and pri­vate of­fices of Fed­eral Cap­i­tal on Mon­day wit­nessed thin at­ten­dance as most of the em­ploy­ees, hail­ing from other cities, had al­ready left for their home­towns to cel­e­brate Eid-ul-Fitr.

The gov­ern­ment has an­nounced hol­i­days from July 5 to 8 club­ing be­fore and af­ter Eid week­end mak­ing it 9 days va­ca­tion pack­age by just tak­ing mon­day off. Talk­ing to APP, Kaleem Ab­bas Sidhu who was work­ing in the Min­istry of Fi­nance said that Mon­day is the last work­ing day be­fore Eid hol­i­days but had left for his home­town on Fri­day be­cause of two weekly off. Dur­ing a sur­vey it was ob­served that restive mood was pre­vail­ing in most of the of­fices and of­fi­cials and staff were seen to dis­cuss how to cel­e­brate Eid.—APP
