Ehsaas survey continues to register deserving families: Sania

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviatio­n Dr Sania Nishtar has said that phasewise Ehsaas Survey continues across the country to register deserving families in different programmes. Giving replies to various queries on Twitter on Sunday, Dr Sania said that registrati­on desks are also being set up at tehsil level to facilitate the deserving people. Sania said that in the first phase of Ehsaas Kifalat programme, payment is being disbursed among four point three million registered women. She also said that payment can be received only through biometric verificati­on at the ATM cabin of the designated bank without a debit card. The SAPM said that each registered woman is being provided Rs12,000 as first instalment. Dr Sania said that providing relief to the poor and underprivi­leged people of society is the top priority of the government. She said that the government has already started a national socioecono­mic survey across the country to register deserving families for Ehsaas programme. She hoped the survey for Ehsaas programme in Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a (KP) would be completed by April next year. She said that 80,000 deserving people are being given interest free loans every month to start their own businesses.
