P&D approves Rs16.53bn funds for three urban development schemes
The Planning and Development (P&D) Board has approved funds of more than Rs16.53 billion for three development schemes in the urban development sector, Pakistan Today learnt on Tuesday.
According to details, the schemes were approved in the 25th meeting of the Punjab Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2020-21, presided over P&D Board Chairman Abdullah
Khan Sumbal.
P&D Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch, board members, Senior Chief Coordination Javed Latif, Assistant Chief Coordination Shahid Idrees, provincial secretaries of the concerned departments, and some other senior officers attended the meeting.
The approved development schemes include the construction of an underpass near Ghulab Devi Hospital and additional lanes on the Lahore Bridge at the cost of Rs1,801.850 million, the construction of a flyover and some Improvement near Shahkam Chowk at the cost of Rs4,384.263 million, and Covid-19 Responsive and Other Natural Calamities Control Programme along with National Programme for Water Sanitation and Hygiene at the cost of Rs10,348.00 million.
Addressing the session, the P&D chairman said, “By taking urban development on priority list, we can create better livelihoods and improve social and economic inclusions.”
