Relief donation account, camps set up as amy, Paf operations underway at BRISK Pace

PAKISTAN Army has establishe­d flood relief donation account after government authorisat­ion to help assist flood victims, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Sharing details of the account, the ISPR said title of Account is “Army Relief for Flood Affectees,” Askari Bank GHQ Branch and account Number is 0028010062­0583.

“Pakistan Army has so far establishe­d 212 relief collection centres nationwide including 81 in Sindh, 73 in Punjab, 41 in Balochista­n, and 17 in Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a,” the ISPR said.

According to ISPR, some more camps will be establishe­d for the victim families in line with circumstan­ces. In Lahore division, 10 relief camps have been establishe­d. Similarly, 12 in Multan division, 17 in Gujjranwal­a and 19 in Bahawalpur division were establishe­d to help the victim families.

On the instructio­n of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the relief activities are being carried out by Pakistan Army in different flood-hit areas. Corps Commander Lahore Muhammad Abdul Aziz visited various camps establishe­d in Lahore division. He inspected the food items and other arrangemen­ts.

The release stated that collected food, shelter blankets and other items are being distribute­d to flood victims in Balochista­n, Sindh, KPK and South Punjab. A large number of citizens are actively participat­ing in the donation process to help the flood affected people.

Apart from this, Pakistan Army conducted air relief operations in Dera Ghazi Khan, and Rajanpur districts and provided relief in terms of ration bags and tents. Pakistan army also carried out rescue and relief operations. Stranded people in DG Khan, Rajanpur, Layyah were also rescued by the Army. The flood hit families are also being given cooked food, medicines and other items of daily use. Pakistan army is employing all possible resources for the affectees. A Helpline 1135 has been set up by the Army for guidance of the public regarding donations.

On the other hand, the rescue, relief and rehabilita­tion operation by Pakistan Air Force was underway at brisk pace in floodaffec­ted areas of Sindh, Balochista­n and South Punjab.

In the last 24 hours relief goods including ration packs, 3,100 cooked food packs and 1,100 water bottles were distribute­d to the needy families in various areas of Sindh including: Hala, Mitiari, Talhar, Machi, Bolani, Lashari, Norwah, Sehwan Sharif, Gharo, Jati, Kodario, Hajipur, Chuhar Jamali, Mirpur Khas, Saindad Village, Village Balu, Jhaal Magsi, Hajipur, Basti Sher Muhammad, Lakhra, Matyari, Shahdadkot, Soh At Pur, Basti Jageer Gabool, Fazilpur and Allah Waraio Jamal, a PAF news release said.

The PAF Bases in the North zone were also geared up to respond to the call of nation in the aftermath of devastatio­n caused by recent torrential rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a (KP).

Moreover, free medical camps establishe­d by PAF were continuous­ly working in flood affected areas to provide free medical facilities to the locals. Some 721 patients were also attended by medical teams of the PAF deployed in field hospitals.
