The Rajasthan government has lunched the eSakhi programme, a statewide drive that aims to provide digital literacy to over 1.5 lakh women. Other than making women digitally literate, the programme will help them benefit from public welfare schemes and avail e- governance services through their mobile phones.
The initiative is an extension of the Bhamashah Yojana financial inclusion programme. Supported by more than 35,000 women volunteers, eSakhi is being implemented by the Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation, through its over 7,000 centres operating across the state. To apply for admission, more than 35,000 women have downloaded the eSakhi app.
