For­eign spy agen­cies re­spon­si­ble for ter­ror at­tacks in Pak­istan

KARACHI: The Coun­terTer­ror­ism De­part­ment (CTD) In­charge Raja Umar Khat­tab on Thurs­day claimed that for­eign in­tel­li­gence agen­cies were in­volved in re­cent ter­ror at­tacks in the coun­try

Talk­ing to jour­nal­ists, Raja Umar Khat­tab said that in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­di­cate that at least three re­cent ter­ror at­tacks in the coun­try were in­ter­linked and backed by the for­eign spy agen­cies.

The po­lice re­vealed that a mo­bile Sub­scriber In­for­ma­tion Mod­ule ( SIM) card re­cov­ered from a ter­ror­ist in­volved in at­tack on Chi­nese Con­sulate, was reg­is­tered on bio-met­ric sys­tem in Pak­istan. He fur­ther said that ac­tive Pak­istani SIMs are be­ing sold in Afghanistan.

Raja Umar Khat­tab urged the peo­ple to reg­is­ter on­line their SIMs to avoid any in­con­ve­nience and to help curb the an­ti­s­tate ac­tiv­i­ties. He said that they will ask Pak­istan Te l e c o m m u n i c a t i o n Au­thor­ity (PTA) to es­tab­lish a mech­a­nism to mon­i­tor the sale of SIMS in the coun­try.

Pro-In­dia mil­i­tant or­ga­ni­za­tion claims re­spon­si­bil­ity for failed at­tack on Chi­nese Con­sulate

It is per­ti­nent to men­tion here that Baloch Lib­er­a­tion Army (BLA), a pro-In­dia mil­i­tant or­ga­ni­za­tion, had claimed re­spon­si­bil­ity for an at­tack on Chi­nese Con­sulate in Karachi on Novem­ber 23.

Ac­cord­ing to de­tails, a spokesman for the in­sur­gent group had told me­dia or­ga­ni­za­tions by phone that all three sui­cide bombers who tried to en­ter the Chi­nese Con­sulate and were killed be­longed to BLA. The BLA also re­leased pic­tures of all three ter­ror­ists.

It is per­ti­nent to note here that In­dian Prime Min­is­ter Naren­dra Modi had en­cour­aged such el­e­ments in his speech on In­dian In­de­pen­dence Day. - NNI
