Staff Report
MCB Bank is upgrading its core banking system as part of its wider technology overhaul to enhance its maximum service facilitation to its customers.
The bank is migrating to version 8.5 of Sungard's Ambit in its 1,230 branches countrywide. The bank management intimated to their customers that services will be suspended to them through ATMs, Debit/ Smart cards, internet and mobile banking till today.
MCB needed to enhance the system efficiency because it has been processing more than 400,000 transactions for retail and corporate banking services on daily basis that is estimated to grow to around 1 million per day, over the period of next two to three years. The solution is a universal banking system that provides comprehensive instrument and product coverage for retail deposits, lending and balance sheet management through its flexible product factory and pricing tools. It enables the bank to expedite its performance for consumer lending, customer management, deposits, international payments, general ledger, limits management.
