EFP Annual Internatio­nal HRM Conference

Ms Margaret Adamson, High Commission­er of Australia, called upon industrial­ists and Human Resources Managers to develop a better understand­ing of new concepts and ideas in Human Resources and to upgrade the skills capital of employees.

She added that Australia is well placed to provide technical knowledge and training in mining, agricultur­e, livestock, and education. She was addressing the Annual Internatio­nal Human Resources Management Conference of Employers Federation of Pakistan in collaborat­ion with Internatio­nal Labor Organizati­on and Bahria University Karachi Campus in Karachi as Chief Guest of the inaugural session. The Conference was attended by around 200 delegates, representi­ng the corporate sector, intelligen­tsia, academia, business and civil society.

Majyd Aziz , President Employers' Federation Of Pakistan, in his welcome address called upon the HR Managers to equip themselves with new vision, knowledge and tools to be able to deal with the blend of technology, innovation and entreprene­urship that are imperative to bring about fundamenta­l changes in the future of work. He said that the eight themes of the Conference have been selected to reflect the emerging demands of the Human Resources profession and need to be addressed on a priority. The Conference proceeding­s will throw the challenge to HR Managers to develop confidence in order to come up to the expectatio­ns of their respective organizati­ons

Mr Saghir Bukhari, Senior Program Officer, ILO presented his keynote address on "Future of Work and HRD Challenges" highlighti­ng the major process of change undergoing in the world of work and the response of the ILO in order to be able to advance its mandate for social justice. Ms Margaret Adamson, High Commission­er. High Commission of Australia, who was accompanie­d by Ms Leonie Muldoon, Senior Trade and Investment Commission­er South Asia, Austrade, based in New Delhi and Nicole Guidhot, First Secretary, Australian High Commission, conferred EFP Award for Best HR Practices 2017 on winning companies in the multinatio­nal, large national and SME categories.
