LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry, while lamenting over miserable state-of-affairs of Pakistan Steel Mills, has urged the government to take immediate measures for its early revival. In a statement, the LCCI President Malik Tahir Javed, SVP Khawaja Khawar Rasheed and VP Zeshan Khalil said that depressed condition of Pakistan Steel Mills is a matter of concern.

Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation was highly profitable Public Sector Enterprises and considered one of the largest steel producers in the country but at present, it is on the verge of collapse because of ignorance. They said that policy makers should be well aware of the fact that Pakistan Steel Mills is not only a major source of steel products supply to the various domestic industries but is also has vital importance for Defence industry.
