US market waiting for exporters from Pakistan

The second meeting of the Pakistan-USA Business Council was held in Federation House, Clifton, Karachi under the Chairmansh­ip of Mr. Imtiaz Hussain, Chairman Pakistan USA Business Council of FPCCI.

The President FPCCI Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, Senior Vice President FPCCI Mirza Ikhtiar Baig and Mr. Muslim Muhammadi, Vice President FPCCI also attended the meeting for a short time, The Chairman presented the bouquet to the honorable guests and appreciate their advice and guidance. Large number of members of the Council from different sector like Sea Food Exporters, Paper & stationery, Real State, Leather garments Gems and Jewelers were also present in the meeting. The Chairman presented the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan in the meeting with President Trump that Pakistan need trade not aid.

The Chairman of the Council welcomed the honorable President, Senior Vice President and Vice President of FPCCI and valuable council members. After short introducti­on the Chairman of the Council briefed the members on the agenda and said that US market waiting for the exporters from Pakistan. At this stage President and SVP also shared their experience and gave some important tips regarding Single Country Trade Fair in Houston-USA

The Chairman informed the participan­ts about the Trade Fair and highlighte­d how Pakistani business community and exporters can enhance exports to USA under the present Tariff War between USAEU and China and withdrawal of GSP status from India, Turkey and China. This Tariff War is going to create demand for Pakistani Goods, in US market. Textile, Readymade Garments, Gloves Furniture, Sports goods, surgical equipment and Agricultur­al products especially Mango will be in great demand in coming days.

Now when US is pulling out of Afghanista­n and seek Pakistan support, Trump Administra­tion is also positive towards Pakistan. A US Senator during his recent visit to Pakistan hinted that he will talk to the Trump Administra­tion to sign a Free Trade Agreements with Pakistan, so all these signals are positive.

He suggested that members should prepare themselves and exports as to how they can penetrate in the US markets.

The response of the members was encouragin­g. About 10 to 20 members from Gem and Jewelry, Real Estate, Sea Foods and Agricultur­e Sector having valid visas would be willing to participat­e in the event.

Chairman also informed the attendants that services of Sahara Media Group (Private) Limited have been sought for arranging the event, travel documentat­ion assistance, guidance of the participan­ts and scheduling meetings with US and Pakistani business community in Houston. Initially the event was planned to be organize in January 2020, but two major events in Houston including a textile fair are going to be held in March 2020. He therefore, suggested rescheduli­ng the event for March 2020, so that the participan­ts could attend Textile fair, has more exposure, B2B meetings and could display their products and sale as well.

He said that concerned ministry, TDAP, Pakistan Consulate in USA and US Consul General in Karachi will also be taken on board through the platform of Pakistan US Business Council of FPCCI to make this event successful.
