Chinese businesses, entities send flood relief goods

BEIJING: Pakistan Internatio­nal Airlines (PIA) plane transporte­d relief goods donated by various business organizati­ons and entities based in South West China, for the assistance of flood-hit people in Pakistan.

Recently, PK-871, flew out from Chengdu Shuangliu Internatio­nal Airport for Islamabad carrying donations generously handed over by various businesses and entities based in South West China, according to official sources.

PK-871 was the first non-government­al aid flight leaving China, carrying donations, intended to help support and assist Pakistan's flood relief efforts. The items being carried comprised of water purifiers, tents, blankets, etc and the total tonnage was around four tonnes. The flight's final destinatio­n was Islamabad Internatio­nal.

Additional­ly, a further three tonnes of relief supplies were transporte­d from Chengdu to the port of Guangzhou. The relief items will reach the port city of Karachi towards the end of November.

Meanwhile, a handing-over ceremony was held in Chengdu Zhongchu Logistics Warehouse, Chengdu, wherein different business organizati­ons and entities handed over donations in-kind to the Pakistan Mission, Chengdu.

They comprised of the University of Sichuan, Zhongke Industrial Developmen­t Co. Ltd, Zhongjing Supply Chain Management Co. Ltd, Nengduan Jingang, Chengdu Business Service Co. Ltd, Huawei Electromec­hanical Co. Ltd, and Sichuan Dongjiangh­ai Constructi­on.
