AGRICULTURE IS FOR ALL
Hindi po ako farmer. Graduate po ako ng Fine Arts and I am now working as Executive Producer of my father’s Youtube Channel, Agriculture How It Works. Pero kahit hindi po ako farmer, very interested po ako sa agriculture. And I realize na lahat ng nakilala ko at na-interview namin sa Agriculture How It Works ay nagstart with zero knowledge din. So puwede ko talaga ito matutunan.
for everyone kasi it’s natural. The soil, the sun, the air (oxygen), our food, etc. These are all for everybody. So farming can also be for everyone. It may look intimidating aralin at puwedeng matutunan.
VALUE IN INTEGRATED EXPERTISE
Another insight that I have observed in my job is there is value in integrated expertise. Ang ibig sabihin po ay hindi kailangan na farming ang linya mo talaga. Lagi ko po napapansin sa mga farmers na mini-mix nila yung past and current jobs nila at ang agriculture. I meet people na pinagko-combine yung engineering and agriculture, teaching and agriculture, accounting and agriculture. And now ako, Fine Arts and agriculture. There’s always a way to integrate your skills and agriculture.. Yung discipline or sa farming.
VIDEO WITH MOST IMPACT
We have made a lot of videos already, and the episode that really made an impact on me was we visited the farm of Ms. Beth Tugos in Palawan. May impact siya sa ‘kin kasi na naisip ko na if I were to have my own or handle my own farm, gusto ko katulad ng ginagawa niya. Kung paano siya makipag-usap sa guest niya, how she prepares the food, how she manage the farm, etc. Sobrang personal and sincere ang style niya, and you will feel na she loves what she’s doing. I hope na that’s what people see in me too. I hope they see my heart in what I do.
MORE SPACE FOR GEN Z IN AGRI
I hope more young people would be involved in agriculture. There is more than enough space for us here, especially sa ‘min na Gen Z. I wish yung mga ka-age ko would see what I see sa agriculture din. I hope na mawala na yung misconception na putikan, mabaho palagi, etc. Kasi hindi naman. I also had a realization na ang cool pala ng agribusiness. I think you will discover a version of yourself na capable din pala of doing other things. Malawak ang agriculture. Madaming puwede pagpilian.
IMPACT OF YOUTUBE CHANNEL
Until now I’m still in awe sa impact na nagagawa ng Youtube channel namin sa farmers and businesses na napi-feature namin. I feel grateful, blessed, and motivated hindi namin pinapakita sa vlogs, pero I feel na worth it every time nalalaman namin na nag-result yung episode into actual sales or more business opportunities dun sa na-feature namin or minsan nakikilala na din sila ng TV networks/shows from the vlog. So it’s worth it for me. And the lives of more Filipinos.
