Pups and hoomans had a fur-tastic day at the beach in celebration of the National Dog Day at Acuaverde Beach Resort on August 25.

Having declared their resort as pet-friendly in 2016, in part because of their Pet Loyalty Club program, Acuaverde Beach Resort continues its advocacy to share with the public the role of dogs in the community by providing animal-friendly events.

Mae Domingo, event organizer and co-founder of Pet Summit Philippines, said

the event highlighted dogs in need of rescue from public or private shelters. “National Dog Day also pays tribute to family dogs for their loyalty and . . . ability to positively affect people’s lives. This special day honors working dogs as well for selflessly risking their lives to save [others].”

The event paid tribute to the hardworking dogs of the Up-mmda-vanguard K9 Search & Rescue, a joint project between University of the Philippines Diliman and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority that trains dogs on disaster preparedness.
