One of my personal favorites is the monitor lizard. I went crazy when I saw rock monitors, black throats, and white throats, what with Japanese hobbyists also being fans.

Aside from reptiles, the reptile show also had other exotic pets, such as small monkeys, marmosets, sugar gliders, squirrels, fennec foxes, prairie dogs, muskrats, and birds of prey. For a hobbyist, being there in the expo was like being a kid in a candy store – without buying the candy, of course.

Expos like the Tokyo World Reptile Show are important to the hobby, encouraging new enthusiasts to take good care of animals with the right knowledge and tools.
