BEST BUNNIES

-

Michael Oligo from Bacolod City swept two major awards for his beloved bunnies. Olaf, Oligo’s lionlop rabbit, was the pet breed category champion.

“My three tips are grooming, conditioning, and bonding. A month before the event, I groom my rabbit every day. Proper food, vitamins, and 30-minute daily exercises are essential as well for the rabbit’s wellbeing. Lastly, bonding time will make the bunny more comfortable with you and less scared towards you and human handling,” said Oligo.

Oligo’s lionhead rabbit Samyang won the fashion show dressed in a fabulous Masskara Festival-inspired costume. “We are celebrating Masskara festival this month. You can see how colorful and vibrant the costume is. It is a reminder of the happy people of Bacolod City, the City of Smiles.”

Dennis Luague’s Jersey Wooly named Woolwool was Best in Show, garnering the top award in the standard category. He said the health of a rabbit was the most important thing to consider in a rabbit show.

“Once [a rabbit is] healthy, other factors will follow. They will have good fur, bright eyes, nice body build, and no sickness,” said Luague, explaining that meeting the standard criteria wouldn’t matter if a rabbit was in poor health.

Runners-up won Best Fur, Crowd’s Favorite, and Most Photogenic.

Lungsod ng Victorias-tourism Office Victorias presented the event, in partnership with PLCI and sponsors, such us Malihaw Inn, MM’S Bunny Café, and Citymall.
