TOCP AWARDS

NAIS kong mauna sa pagbahagi sa iyo ang napakagandang balitang ito: Nangunguna si Bayan Muna Party- list Congressman Neri I. Colmenares sa mga nagwagi sa Search for The Outstanding Congressmen/ women of the Philippines ( TOCP) para ngayong taon na iginawad ng Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. ( PAPI), sa pamumuno ng pangulo nitong si Louie Arriola.

Base sa records ng Kamara at sa pamantayan ng Search, napili ng PAPI TOCP panel ang walong nagwagi mula sa mga nominado kahit nagpasya rin ito na kilalanin ang tatlo pang miyembro ng Kamara na may special honors citations.

Bukod kay Colmenares, ang pitong iba pang TOCP awardee, alinsunod sa alpabeto: Representatives Gary Alejano ng Magdalo party- list, Amado Bagatsing ng 5th district ng Manila, Leopoldo Bataoil ng 2nd district ng Pangasinan, Jonathan Dela Cruz ng ABAKADA party- list, Luzviminda Ilagan ng Gabriela party- list, Celso Lobregat ng Zamboanga City, at Samuel Pagdilao of part- list ACT- CIS. Ang tatlong miyembro ng Kama na gagawaran ng special honors citation dahil sa kanilang leadership at dalisay na pagtupad ng kanikanilang mga tungkulin ay sina House Deputy Speaker Giogidi Aggabao ng 4th district ng Isabela, Congresswoman Gina Perez- De Venecia ng 1st district ng Pangasinan, at Rep. Emil L. Ong ng 2nd district ng Northern Samar.

Ipinaliwanag ni PAPI President Louie T. Arriola na ang TOCP Search ay may layuning “to publicly recognize and honor deserving members of the lower chamber of Congress who have exemplarily discharged and performed their mandated duties, obligations and responsibilities in both quantitative and qualitative terms, and have contributed significantly and meaningfully to the promotion of the public welfare.”

Ang limang miyembrong TOCP panel, na pinangungunahan ng Tytana College president at dating UP Chancellor Dr. Jerry Cao, ay kabilang ang PAPI president Arriola, Dr. Met Palaypay ng isang environment advocacy group, National Press Club of the Philippines president Joel Egco at Philippines News Agency senior editor Faye Velasco. Pormal na igagawad ang mga parangal sa pagtatapos ng programa ng 2015 Midyear Convention sa Agosto 28 sa Asian Institute of Management in Makati City.
