PKF, binawian ng ‘recognition’ ng World Federation
BINAWI ng World Karate Federation (WKF) ang recognition sa Philippine Karate Federation (PKF) bilang miyembro at opisyal na national sports association ng bansa.
Sa sulat ni WKF president Antonio Espinos na may petsang April 17 kay PKF president Jose ‘Joey’ Romasanta, ibinaba ang hatol ng World Federation bunsod nang rekomendasyon ng WKF Executive Committee na nagsagawa ng imbestigasyon sa mga alegasyon laban sa PKF.
“We have reviewed at evidences and research provided by our Executive Committee member Mr. Vincent Chen, and the information provided by you and your federation and the WKF EC has decided to withdraw the recognition of the Philippine Karate Federation-NSA, Inc with immediate effect,” ayon sa sulat ni Espinos.
Kamakailan, sa pakikipagtulungan ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Ramon ‘El Presidente’ Fernandez, dumating sa bansa si WKF member Mr. Vincent Chen kung saan nakipagpulong ito sa mga atleta, opisyal at iba pang stakeholder sa karate sa Pilipinas bilang bahagi ng ginawang imbestigasyon.
Matatandaang dumulog sa PSC ang mga miyembro ng PKF na isinabak sa 2017 Southeast Asian Games sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia na hindi naibigay sa kanila ang mga allowances sa kanilang pagsasanay sa Germany – isang buwan bago ang SEA Games.
Ayon sa sinumpaang salaysay ng pitong karatekas, tig-Euro 400 lamang ang ibinigay sa kanila ni PKF secretary-general Raymond Lee-Reyes imbest na tigUS$1,800 na siyang aprupado ng PSC.
Sa record ng PSC, sinabi ni Fernandez na isinumite ni Reyes sa ‘liquidation report’ na natanggap ng mga atleta ang tig-US$1,800.
Bunsod nito, dumulog ang PSC sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na nagrekomenda naman ng pagsampa ng kasong criminal laban sa mga opisyal ng PKF, partikular kay Reyes.
Sa gitna ng imbestigasyon, naungkat din ang pagbebenta ng PKF ng mga kagamitin at uniporme na may logo ng WKF sa mataas na halaga kahit walang pahintulot ng world federation.
“We Welcome and support the WKF move so we can unite the karate fraternity in the country! WKF will guide us in the formation of an inclusive new federation. Together WKF, PSC, POC will form a Committee to guide the formation of the new karate federation,” pahayag ni Fernandez.
Sa sulat na copy furnished ang PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, asian Federationa at iba pang regional association, iginiit ni Espinos na pormal na ibaba ang desisyon sa WKF Congress sa Nobyembre 5, 2018 sa Madrid, Spain.
“Nevertheless, on the occasion of the WKF Congress in its next meeting in Madrid on 5th November 2018, your Federation will be granted the opportunity to express its views with regards to its disaffiliation of WKF, if it wishes, in which case we ask you to kindly inform us about your decision before the 30th April 2018,” ayon sa WKF.
Tinangka ng Balita na makunan ng pahayag ang mga opisyal ng PKF, ngunit hindi sumagot sa tawag at text ang mga sangkot na opisyal.
