Sanctions sa NoKor mananatili –Pompeo
SEOUL (Reuters) – Mananatili ang mabibigat na sanctions sa North Korea hanggang sa makumpleto ang denuclearization nito, sinabi ng U.S. secretary of state kahapon.
Naglabas sina U.S. President Donald Trump at North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ng joint statement matapos ang pagpupulong sa Singapore na muling nagpapahayag ng commitment ng North “to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula”, at pagwawakas ng joint U.S.South Korean military exercises at nagbibigay sa U.S. ng mga garantiya ng seguridad sa North Korea.
“President Trump has been incredibly clear about the sequencing of denuclearization and relief from the sanctions,” sinabi ni Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sa mga mamamahayag matapos makipagpulong kina South Korean President Moon Jae-In at Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono sa Seoul.
“We are going to get complete denuclearization; only then will there be relief from the sanctions,” aniya.
“Everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office,” tweet ni Trump. “There is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!”
