Huling hirit bago ipasa ang BBL

Tinalakay kahapon ng Bicameral Conference Committee ang reconciled version ng Senado at Kamara para maipasa na ang panukalang Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).

Inaasahang magpagtibay ng Bicam na pinamumunuan nina Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri at House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas ang draft measure at mapagisa ang House Bill 6475 at Senate Bill 1717. Target nilang malagdaan ang consolidated BBL bago matapos ang araw.

Noong Hulyo 13, kinumpleto ng Conference Committee ang pagrerepaso sa 17 ng 18 artikulo sa panukalang organic law, gaya ng subcommittee report sa Article X, at Bangsamoro Justice System.

Isang grupo na binansagang Bangsamoro Insider Mediators ang humabol ng hirit sa mga mambabatas para pigilan ang pagpasa sa tinawag nilang “diluted” BBL.

Pinamunuan ni Shallom Allian, nagdaos kahapon ang grupo ng press conference sa Edsa Shangri-La Hotel sa Mandaluyong City, sa inaasahang huling araw ng Bicameral Conference Committee meetings sa makasaysayang batas. Unang nagtipon ang Bicam noong Hulyo 9.

Nakasulat tarpaulin banners na ikinabit ng grupo sa kanilang presscon table ang “No to diluted BBL,” “Restore original provisions,” at “BBL should not be lesser than ARMM.”

“For us, the BBL, as submitted by the Bangsamoro Transition Commission to the Congress of the Philippines, is the faithful translation of the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) and other past agreements, and is the restoration, fulfilment and safeguard of our people’s rights and welfare,” saad sa pahayag na inilabas ng grupo.

“Hence, this is the appeal we make to the Conferees: respect all signed agreements by passing a law that is not counter to the letter and spirit, text and context of the CAB and past agreements,” ayon dito.
