Kris todo-pasalamat na kumita ang ‘Crazy Rich Asians’

AMINADO si Kris Aquino na malaki ang epekto sa kanya personally sakaling mangulelat sa box-office ang Crazy Rich Asians, partikular na sa Amerika kung saan ito unang ipinalabas halos dalawang linggo na ang nakakaraan.

Bagamat cameo role lang ang actress-host sa nasabing Hollywood film, kinatawan naman ni Kris ang Pilipinas sa blockbuster na movie adaptation ng libro ni Kevin

Kwan.

Sa pinakabago niyang Instagram post, Kris opened up about her fears since she believed that if the Hollywood movie performed poorly in the box-office, she would be the one to be blamed.

The actress, who played Princess Intan, found out from the producer that Crazy Rich Asians earned P110 million in the Philippine box office in seven days.

Heto ang buong post ni Kris: “My soul baring truths: 1. When @crazyrichasians became the #1 movie in the [U.S.], that Monday night (August 20) after reading it earned $35.5M in the 5 days since Aug 15, I was so stressed & anxious that my BP was at hypertensive crisis level. There was FEAR that if it did poorly here, I’d be the logical punching bag & laughingstock.

“2. I firmly decided to shut up about @ crazyrichasians... as previously stated, the movie shouldn’t become a referendum on the moviegoers’ feelings about me and/or my family. It wouldn’t be right to see what was so instrumental in helping me regain MY SELF WORTH suffer because of association w/ me. PRAYERS & SILENCE were my best options.

“3. Then like a dream friends started sending me pictures & videos of all seats taken cinemas, I read in messages the spontaneous cheers when Princess Intan walked in.

Congratulations. She updated me just now- 7 day total is P110M.

Sa artikulong lumabas sa The Wrap, it was revealed that the movie used authentic jewelry and watches from some of the most renowned high-end brands. Umabot daw sa $30 million dollars (P1.604 billion!) to produce this movie about ultra-rich Asians.
