PINATULAN ni Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina ang isang netizen na nagbigay ng pahayag na ang box-office gross of The Hows Of Us ay may “padding” or has been inflated to make it higher than the actual amount.
The director reposted the announcement of Star Cinema indicating that the Kathryn Bernardodaniel Padilla movie earned P116 million as of August 31, 2018.
The quote card disclosed that The Hows Of Us grossed P116,943,914.02 in a span of three days.
Nitong nakaraang araw, August 30, Direk Cathy also reposted the opening day gross of The Hows Of Us on her Instagram account.
Sa kanyang comments section, Direk Cathy responded to a netizen who commented that the amount looks questionable because of the cents included in the figure.
A day after its premiere, Star Cinema announced that The Hows Of Us grossed P35,938,622.74 on its opening day.
In the comments section, a netizen using the handle @ dsd.16 asked the director: “Bakit may butal direk?!?! Dito magsisimula ang padding issue na naman.”
Na sinagot naman ni Direk Cathy: “@dsd.16 hindi po. Jan nga matatapos padding issue. Kasi galing mismo ‘yan sa official statement. ‘Pag rounded off ang figures, ‘yan ang mas nakakatakot. Kasi impossible na saktong walang butal ang gross. May butal ang presyo ng tickets e. [smiley] eksakto ‘to. Promise!”
