Dingdong kontra sa pregnancy test-bago-enrol
NAG-REACT si Dingdong Dantes sa kontrobersiyal ngayong policy ng Pines City Colleges ng Baguio City tungkol sa mandatory pregnancy tests for female students.
Nakasaad sa statement ng Pines City Colleges: “Pines City Colleges stands by its policy of pregnancy tests for female students who are enrolling in any subject that would endanger both mother and child. It is a policy agreed to by our students upon their enrolment in this institution. We believe it is a policy protective of our students while they are in our care and are deployed to internship programs in hospitals and to clinical practice.”
Nagbigay naman ng reaksiyon dito si Dingdong: “Despite the College’s intention to protect the health of its students and their child, and to contribute in resolving teenage pregnancy in the country, this act remains to be a concrete violation of the basic right to privacy and of the Magna Carta for Women. Imposing enrolment limitations and sanctions to non-compliant students found out to be pregnant are discriminatory.
“I hope the school management will review the implications of the said memorandum, and I support the Commission on Higher Education along with other women rights advocates who are looking into this case.
“I also hope that the National Youth Commission @NYCPilipinas will follow suit especially that this concerns young women.”
Pero, mukhang hindi babaguhin ng Pines City Colleges ang nasabing policy nila, lalo na at may mga estudyante na nagpahayag naman ng suporta sa nasabing polisiya.
Hindi maaakusahang nangangampanya si Dingdong dahil hindi siya tatakbo sa 2019 midterm elections. Naglabas na siya ng statement na hindi siya papasok sa pulitika dahil priority niya sa ngayon ang family niya, lalo at buntis ang asawang si Marian Rivera sa second baby nila.
Samantala, sa November 19, na ang pilot ng Cain at Abel, ang action-drama series nila ni Dennis Trillo. Excited na ang fans ng dalawa na masubaybayan ang series, lalo at napapanood ang matitinding action scenes.
