‘Is it a joke to advise people to kill?’
Iginiit ng dalawang obispo na hindi nakakatawa at marapat na kondenahin ang naging mungkahi ni Pangulong Duterte sa mga tambay na holdapin at patayin ang mga obispo, dahil isang krimen ang pagpatay para gawing biro.
“Again, his mouth has uttered absolutely silly things! And his ‘fans’ consider his murderous words as a mere joke! Is it a joke to advise people to kill?” sinabi ni Sorsogon Bishop Arturo Bastes sa isang panayam.
“There should be a mass movement among decent Filipinos to make him desist from speaking like a devil. Let us do something to make him stop this evil!” dagdag niya.
Sinegundahan naman ni Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos ang sinabi ni Bastes.
“It is no longer funny, and does not deserve laughs or applause from audience, but condemnation. The advice just promotes criminality, encourages lawlessness. What kind of authority that calls for killing?” ani Santos.
“It is immoral authority, and does not respect life and teaches wrong values. If he does it with bishops, how much more to ordinary citizens? What kind of head of state who encourages killing?” aniya pa.
“His presidency is disappointment to us, and disgraced to country. It is known as ‘kill, kill, kill’. And we totally speak, stand against it. We reject and condemn what he says,” dagdag ni Santos.
Nababahala naman si Bastes sa magiging epekto sa kabataan ng mga sinabi ng Pangulo.
“This is a serious matter. Being the number one citizen of our country, the young generation might make him a role model in speaking improperly as though words have no moral consequences,” ani Bastes.
Noong nakaraang linggo, iminungkahi ni Duterte sa mga tambay na holdapin at patayin ang mga obispo dahil maraming pera ang mga ito.
Una nang nanawagan si Duterte sa publiko na patayin na lang ang mga obispo dahil wala namang silbi ang mga ito.
Sa parehong pagkakataon, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo na nagbibiro lang si Duterte, at bahagi ng “figure of speech” ang mga naging pahayag nito upang bigyang-diin ang ipinupunto.
