Barbra Streisand, binatikos dahil kay Michael Jackson
BINATIKOS si Barbra Streisand dahil sa kanyang pahayag kamakailan hinggil sa mga alegasyon ng sexual abuse laban sa yumaong si Michael Jackson.
Ang kapanayamin ng The Times of London , natanong ang singer tungkol sa opinyon nito sa kontrobersyal na Jackson documentary, ang Leaving Neverland – kung saan pinagbintangan nina Wade Robson at James Safechuck ang yumaong King of Pop ng sexual abuse noong mga bata pa sila – at aniya, naniniwala siya sa dalawang lalaki, ayon sa ulat ng Entertainment Tonight.
“Oh, absolutely. That was too painful,” sabi ni Barbra na noon ay inilarawan si Michael bilang “very sweet, very childlike” noong mga panahon na nagkikita sila. Pagbabalik-tanaw niya, hiniling umano ni Michael sa kanya na makipag-duet sa kantang I Just Can’t Stop Loving You, ngunit hindi siya pumayag.
Gayunman, ang sunod na mga komento niya tungkol sa umano’y sexual behavior ni Michael ay hindi nagustuhan ng fans.
“His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has. You can say ‘molested,’ but those children, as you heard say [in the documentary], they were thrilled to be there,” paliwanag niya. “They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.”
“It’s a combination of feelings. I feel bad for the children. I feel bad for him,” pagtutuloy ng singer, nang tanungin kung galit ba siya kay Michael. “I blame, I guess, the parents, who would allow their children to sleep with him. Why would Michael need these little children dressed like him and in the shoes and the dancing and the hats?”
Nang kumalat ang pahayag niyang ito sa web, nagsimula nang magalit ang Twitter users sa singer at may kani-kanya silang opinyon.
“Shame on you @BarbraStreisand for disrespecting the victims of child rape. Low class, dismissive and a shocking trivialisation. To speak up for a child abuser... I expect it from the deranged MJ fans but not from you, who should know better. #LeavingNeverland #victimshamers,” anang isang user.
“This is horrible. I feel sick,” tweet ng isa pa.
Kasunod ng debut nito sa Sundance Film Festival sa Park City, Utah, kaagad na binatikos ang Leaving Neverland ng pamilya ni Michael.
Matapos itong iere sa HBO, nakatanggap naman ito ng magkahalong reaksyon.
Dahil dito, nagsampa ang Jackson estate ng $100 million lawsuit laban sa HBO bago pa man ipalabas ang pelikula, dahil ang dokumentaryo umano ay “unvetted propaganda to shamelessly exploit an innocent man no longer here to defend himself.”
