Istorya ng Wu-Tang Clan, gagawan ng serye
MAGKAKAROON ng serye ang istorya ng pamosong grupo noong 1990s, ang Wu-Tang Clan, na inaasahan ng rapper na si RZA na sasalamin sa hip-hop community ng Amerika.
Ang Wu-Tang: An
American Saga” ay isang dramatization ng mga karanasan ng banda mula sa kanilang pamamalagi sa crimeridden streets ng New
York City dahil mga baguhan pa lamang, patungo sa rurok ng tagumpay.
“This is an American story,” pahayag ng Wu-Tang founding member na si RZA sa Television Critics Association event nitong Biyernes. “But young people around the world I know will relate to it because everyone is trying to grow out of the mud.”
Si RZA ang co-creator, writer at executive producer ng series. Inilarawan bilang “a blend of fact and fiction” sinabi niya na “(the series) that would open up more about the Wu”. Ilulunsad ang serye sa Hulu sa September.
Nabuo ang siyam na miyembro ng Wu-Tang Clan sa Staten Island sa New York noong 1992 sa kasagsagan
ng cocaine epidemic at naging most influential bands in early hip-hop. Ang kanilang debut album na Enter the
Wu-Tang ay itinuturing bilang isa sa mga best rap albums of all time. Ayon kay Brian Grazer, ang Oscar-winning producer ng A Beautiful Mind, tagahanga na siya ng Wu-Tang Clan kahit noong nagsisimula pa lamang ang grupo.
“What we’re trying to do is expose people to the unique qualities of this band,” lahad ni Brian, isa rin sa mga producer ng serye. “They were all sort of disparate felons and they found a way to get together and be successful, and they never sold themselves out.”
