Malacañang, nakiramay sa quake victims

Nagpahayag ng pakikiramay ang Malacañang sa mga pamilya ng walong nasawi sa naganap na lindol sa Itbayat, Batanes, nitong Sabado ng madaling araw.

Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, umaasa rin ang Malacañang na bumuti kaagad ang kalagayan ng mga nasugatan sa pagyanig.

“We send our sincerest prayers for the fast and speedy recovery of those who were injured,” sabi nito.

Tiniyak din nito na tutulungan ng pamahalaan ang mga residenteng naapektuhan ng kalamidad sa lalawigan.

“The national government has ordered all concerned departments to mobilize and render immediate assistance to those affected. The President is expected to visit the people of Batanes today, assess the extent of damage in the province and initiate the rebuilding of one of the most treasured destinations of the country,” paliwanag ni Panelo, kahapon.

Patuloy din aniya ang relief operations sa lugar sa tulong ng

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Sinabi ng DSWD-Cagayan Valley ng mayroon pa rin silang P700,000 protective services funds, bukod pa ang kanilang relief supplies.

Nakatakda ring ipadala ng DSWD ang 29,132 family food packs at non-foods items na nagkakahalaga ng 349,602 na maaaring magamit bilang additional resources.

Nakahanda na rin ang mga eroplanong C290 ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) na maghahatid ng relief supplies sa nabanggit na probinsiya.

Kaugnay nito, hindi naapektuhan ng lindol ang ilang power plants sa lalawigan.

Ito ang kinumpirma ng Department of Energy (DoE), kahapon.

Dahil dito, normal pa rin ang operasyon ng mga ito.

Patuloy naman ang pagsubaybay ng Task Force on Energy Resiliency (TFER) sa sitwasyon sa lugar.

Sa report ng DoE, handa ang Itbayat Diesel Power Plant na mag-operate kapag handa na ang distribution system ng Batanes Electric Cooperative (BATANELCO).

Tiniyak din ng BATANELCO na available ang serbisyo nito sa Basco at Sabtang Islands.

Kasalukuyang kinukumpleto ng BATANELCO ang isinasagawang line assessments, lalo na ang nasa kritikal na imprastruktura, tulad ng mga gusali ng gobyerno, pagamutan at communications centers.

Nagpahiram naman ang National Electrification Administration ng dalawang units ng 3.5 kW generators sets ng Cagayan I Electric Cooperative (CAGELCO I) at Isabela II Electric Cooperative (ISELCO II) sa Itbayat government.
