Imbestigasyon kay Duque, kinumpirma

Batid ni Pangulong Duterte ang isinasagawang imbestigasyon sa alegasyon ng conflict of interest laban kay Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, bagamat nananatiling buo ang tiwala ng Presidente sa kalihim.

Kinumpirma ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo na nagsasagawa na ng imbestigasyon ang Office of the President sa mga isyu laban kay Duque.

“The SOP is any complaint as the President says that reaches his table will always be a subject of a serious investigation of the Office of the President,” sinabi ni Panelo sa mga mamamahayag kahapon.

‘THE PRESIDENT WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO’ Tinanong kung pormal nang nasimulan ang pagsisiyasat, sinabi ni Panelo, “I’m sure. Because the President, when he receives any serious allegations, he does it.

“If the investigation shows that there has been a violation, then the President will know what to do,” ani Panelo.

Kasabay nito, tiniyak ng opisyal na nananatiling buo ang tiwala ni Duterte kay Duque.

Ang mga alegasyon ay kasunod ng pagpapahayag ng pagkabahala ni Senador Panfilo Lacson sa umano’y conflict of interest ni Duque sa ilang kontrata ng gobyerno.

Sa kanyang privilege speech nitong Lunes, sinabi ni Lacson na nakopo ng Doctors Pharmaceuticals, Inc.—na pag-aari ng pamilya Duque—ang mga kontrata sa Department of Health para sa medicine supplies.

Itinanggi na ito ng kalihim at sinabing 2006 pa lang ay tumiwalag na siya sa nasabing kumpanya.

LACSON, ‘DI MA-CONTACT

Sa isang panayam kahapon, sinabi ni Duque na sinisikap niyang makausap ang senador upang malinawan ito sa akusasyon sa kanya ng conflict of interest.

“I have been trying. But so far, to no avail,” anang kalihim.

“I will probably need to identify a person who will be able to help bridge us so that we can come together, hopefully just help one another for the sake of government and for the sake of public service,” dagdag niya.
