PNP, NDRRMC, BOC aayuda; 56 katao binabantayan sa virus

Matapos ang unang kumpirmadong kaso ng 2019 novel corona virus (nCoV) sa Pilipinas, inilagay ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa “high readiness mode” para tumulong sa Department of Health (DOH) na tugunan ang mga sitwasyon sa pamamagita ng pagmomonitir sa mga pangunahing entry points sa bansa para sa posibleng detection ng infected persons.

Hinimok ni Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, ang publiko na manatiling kalmado, matatag at mayalam kasabay ng pagtiiyak na nanatiling kontrolado ng national government ang sitwasyon.

“Our local police units are on high readiness mode, awaiting notice if needed by DOH to track down persons that may have recklessly circumvented quarantine protocol imposed by authorities,” ani Banac nitong Huwebes ng gabi.

Nagtayo rin ang PNP Health Service (HS) ng direct hotline of communication sa DOH para sa lateral implementation ng public health measures.

Sinabi kahapon ng DOH na 56 persons under investigation (PUIs) ang binabantayan sa posibleng nCoV infection sa bansa.

Samantala, sinabi ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) na handa rin itong umayuda sa DOH sa pamamahala sa sitwasyon.

“The NDRRMC will follow the lead of DOH being the subject matter expert on this concern,” sinabi ni NDRRMC spokesperson Mark Timbal.

Naka-full allert din ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) para bantayan ang pagpasok ng imported products na maaaring nahawaan ng 2019-nCoV.

“The intelligence and enforcement group of Bureau of Customs are now on full alert as per order of the Commissioner guarding against all items not just food items by which we coordinate with the Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Agriculture (DA) that might be a carrier or a source of carrying these diseases other than actual humans,” sinabi ni Customs Assistant Commissioner Vincent Maronilla sa press conference sa Malacañang.
