Nouri, pinakabata sa PH Team
NAKAUNGOS si FIDE Master Alekhine “Bbking” Fabiosa Nouri sa tiebreak para magkampeon sa katatapos na Philippine Sports Commission-National Chess Federation of the Philippines selection process (Standard event) na ginanap sa PACE headquarters sa Quezon City.
Nakisalo si Nouri kay International Master Jan Emmanuel Garcia sa paglikom ng tig 7.0 points sa 90 minutes + 30 seconds time control event na inorganisa ng National Chess Federation of the Philippines sa gabay ni chairman/president Prospero “Butch” Pichay Jr.
Tangan ang mas mataas na tiebreak points, nakamit ni Nouri ang titulo habang nagkasya si Garcia sa second place.
Si Nouri, youngest participant sa edad na 14 years old at grade 7 pupil ng FEU-Fern Diliman, Quezon City ay kinakailangan ng magandang performance sa second at final round sa Peb. 24 hanggang Marso 1 na gaganapin pa din sa PACE para sa kanyang spots sa national squad ayon kay newlyinstalled NCFP executive director Atty. Cliburn Anthony Orbe.
“14-year old FM Alekhine Nouri, the youngest in a very strong field of current and aspiring National Pool players, some of them veterans of several Chess Olympiads, ruled the 1st half of the 2020 PSC-NCFP Selection Grand Finals held at the Philippine Academy for Chess Excellence in Quezon City. That a 14year old topped this strong tournament augurs well for Philippine Chess. We have another strong prospect for a world-class player in the future. Congrats Alekhine and good luck in the second half,” sambit ni Orbe.
Kabilang sa top 12 ay sina IM Ricardo de Guzman (3rd), IM John Marvin Miciano (4th), CM John Merill Jacutina (5th), IM Barlo Nadera (6th), John Jasper Laxamana (7ht), FM Stephen Rome Pangilinan (8th), NM Rhenzi Kyle Sevillano (9th), IM Jerad Docena (10th), NM Jeth Romy Morado (11th) at Istraelito Rilloraza (12th).
Samantala ay nagpakitang gilas naman si Woman International Master Bernadette Galas na solo champion sa women’s side na may nine points, half a point ahead kina Woman International Master Marie Antoinette San Diego at Woman Fide Master Allaney Jia Doroy na may tig 8.5 points. Ang nag kumpleto naman sa top 5 ay sina WIM Mikee Charlene Suede (7 points) at Mhage Gerriahlou Sebastian (6 points).
