Video Challenge sa UAAP Volleyball

IPATUTUPAD sa UAAP Season 82 Volleyball Tournament ang video challenge.

Layunin ng paggamit ng video challenge na pataasin ang level ng laro sa liga at upang makasunod sa international standards ng larong volleyball.

Ito ang inihayag ng UAAP management sa idinaos na press conference para sa volleyball tournament nitong Martes sa MOA Arena. Magsisimula ang kompetisyon sa Pebrero 15.

“During the SEA Games we also saw the challenges that were implemented, we will also implement the challenge system during this year,” ani UAAP president Em Fernandez ng season host Ateneo de Manila University. “We want to uplift not just women’s volleyball but also men’s volleyball.”

Sinabi naman ni Volleyball Commissioner at technical head Noreen Go na inaayos na nila lahat ng mga ‘guidelines’ para sa implementasyon ng ‘video challenge system’.

“We will pattern the challenge system after the SEA Games,” ani Go. “We’re still finalizing all the details and we will release a memorandum to all schools, all the people involved and the media as well. We want to orient them with the correct rules and the guidelines. We just actually discussed it in length just this week. It will be in time for the opening.”

Dahil dito, may pagkakataon na ang mga coaches na i-challenge ang isang call o non-call ng referee sa pamamagitan ng ‘video review’.

“Ang sure right now na ang two challenges per set have to be successful. What we’re trying to clear lang if the play has to be finished before you challenge,” wika pa ni Go. “Kasi in FIVB rule on going you can challenge eh. So we’re clearing that. Because it’s the first time for the UAAP to have the challenge system approved and very recent so we’re working on the guidelines and the details.”
