COVID-19, ‘DI PA HUMUHUPA Istorya sa 2 Pahina

Hindi pa rin humuhupa ang nakamamata­y na coronaviru­s disease 2019 (COVID-19) sa bansa, ayon sa Department of Health (DoH).

Sa pahayag ng DoH, wala pa sa tamang panahon upang ideklarang hindi tumatatag na ang kaso ng nasabing viryus.

“It’s premature. We’ve seen some initial trending but it’s not consistent. We have to wait for more data to come in and to establish a trend that is more consistent-- whether its plateauing or going down. Still, the situation remains fluid,” pagdidiin ni DoH Secretary Francisco Duque III.

Ito ang naging reaksyon ng DoH kasunod ng naging pahayag ng World Health Organizati­on (WHO) kamakailan na humuhupa na ang virus cases sa China.

Ayon kay WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesu­s, dapat na mapag-aralan nang husto ang sitwasyon ng COVID-19 bago maglabas ng anumang pahayag.

Inihayag ng WHO na mayaroong kabuuang 47,505 laboratory-confirmed

COVID19 cases sa China, kabilang ang nasawi na 1,381.

Kaugnay nito, suportado naman ni Duque ang paggamit ng bagong sistema na makatutulo­ng sa pagtuklas sa kaso sa pamamagita­n ng chest imaging, katulad ng ginagamit sa China.

“We will look into that developmen­t from the China medical care system that raised this. It’s very interestin­g but I do not have the details of such but the concept seems to be very good,” aniya.

Ipinaliwan­ag naman ni WHO Executive Director Dr. Michael Ryan, mas ginagamit sa China ang chest imaging kaysa laboratory confirmati­on.

“This allows clinicians to move and report cases more quickly, not having to wait for lab confirmati­on, ensuring that people get to clinical care more quickly, and also allows public health responses in terms of contact tracing and other important public health measures to be initiated,” pahayag ni Ran sa isang press briefing sa Geneva, Switzerlan­d nitong Pebrero 13.
