Kalidad at antas ng talento misyon ng QC Defenders

-

“Through the NBL, our team Quezon City Defenders want to create a platform for these young and talented homegrown players to shine and get a better life through basketball,” pahayag ni El Soury sa kanyang pagbisita sa “Usapang Sports” ng Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) kamakailan sa National Press Club sa Intramuros.

“We noticed that many good, quality players are not easily drafted in the big leagues even after graduating from college. Since I took over the team this year, I made it a priority to help them get the exposure they need more than anything else,” sambit ni El Soury sa lingguhang sports forum na itinataguyod ng Philippine Sports Commission, National Press Club, PAGCOR, Community Basketball Association at HG Guyabano Tea Leaf Drinks.

“This is actually only the jumpstart for the careers of these after they finished college and did not get drafted by the major leagues right away,” aniya.

“Although the team is representing Quezon City for the third straight year now, El-Soury said the team is working on purely private sponsorship and without any assistance from the local government. But of course we plan to meet and talk with our Mayor Joy Belmonte and let her know what we are doing.”

“We actually went through several tryouts under former National University player-turned-coach coach Micky Estrada. We started in September 2018 and came up with our core team.”

“We’re doing well so far. We have already qualified in the playoffs with a twice-to-beat advantage against the No. 5 team in the other bracket,” aniya.
