Racasa, nanguna sa PSA Tony Siddayao awardee

PANGUNGUNAHAN ni country’s youngest Woman Fide Master elect Antonella Berthe “Tonelle” Murillo Racasa ang kumpletong listahan ng young at promising athletes na pararangalan sa SMC-PSA (Philippine Sportswriters Association) Annual Awards Night.

Kasama ang siyam pang kabataan, ang 12-year-old chess whiz at Grade 6 pupil ng VCIS Home School Global ay tatangap ng parangal na 2019 Tony Siddayao Award sa Marso 6 gala night sa Centennial Hall ng Manila Hotel.

“The award is named after the late former Manila Standard sports editor Antonio ‘Tony’ Siddayao, long considered as the Dean of Philippine sportswriting. It is given to young, emerging athletes 17year-old and below, who excelled in their respective fields,” pahayag ng organizing committee.

Kabilang din sa Siddayao awardees sina bowling pair Dale Lazo at Jordan Dinham, karatedo’s Juan Miguel Sebastian, golfer Celine Abalos, powerlifter Jessa Mae Tabuan, bemedalled age-group swimmers Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh at Marc Bryant Dula at Siblings tennis star Alex at Michael Eala.

Ang mga prominenteng kabataan na nakatangap ng award dati ay sina Grandmaster Wesley So, Eumie Kiefer Ravena, Felix Marcial, Jeron Teng, Markie Alcala, Pauline Del Rosario, Aby Arevalo, Maurice Sacho Ilustre, at iba pa.

Ang iba pang PSA chess awardees ay sina Grandmaster John Paul Gomez at International Master Daniel Quizon ( Milo awardee).

Kilala sa tawag na Tonelle sa chess world ay masisilayan sa World Youth Rapid at Blitz Chess Championship sa Abril 12-16, 2020 sa Heraklion, Creta, Greece.
