Agri-tourism project sa pagpapaunlad ng kasanayan ng mga magsasaka

PINASINAYAAN ng Department of Agriculture (DA) sa pangunguna ni Secretary William Dar at ni Abra Governor Maria Jocelyn Bernos kamakailan, ang proyekto para sa pagtatayo ng isang agri-tourism site kung saan maaaring magsanay ang mga magsasaka.

Ayon kay Bernos, itatayo ang proyekto sa isang 34.293-ektaryang lote sa Barangay Gaddani.

“Having this spacious area in Tayum, why not utilize it and establish an agri-tourism site to help the farmers improve their farming skills,” pahayag ni Bernos kasabay ng groundbreaking ceremony.

Aniya, ang proyekto ay magkakaroon ng agricultural tourism technology demonstration at learning site para sa recreational at production purposes.

“Several packages of technologies and innovations will be developed in the proposed site for the purpose of showcasing the agricultural technologies on rice, corn, high value crops, industrial crops, organic agriculture and fisheries,” pahayag ni Bernos.

Dagdag pa niya, magsisilbi ring lugar ang pasilidad para sa livestock production gayundin para sa bee culture.

“To further enhance the skills of our farmers, we will establish machinery training and service center, soil and tissue culture laboratory production facilities, solar powered irrigation facilities, processing center and farmers’ training center,” pahayag ni Bernos.

Ang nasabing aktibidad ayon sa gobernador, ay magpapalakas sa produksyon ng mga magsasaka sa probinsiya.

Magkakaroon din ang lugar ng isang non-agricultural component tulad ng agri-tourism at display center, multi-purpose function hall, engineered bamboo processing center, bamboo clonal garden, at isang recreational center.

Samantala, sa isang press conference matapos ang seremonya, siniguro ni Secretary Dar na lubos ang suporta ng kanyang ahensiya para sa pagtatayo ng agri-tourism site. “We want to improve the lives of our farmers and to address the issues on food security,” anito.

Ang Agri-tourism, aniya, ay pag-iimplementa sa resulta ng mga pananaliksik at pagpapaunlad, partikular ang inobatibo at modernong teknolohiya na lumilikha ng mga de kalidad na produkto, kung saan maaaring umagapay ang ahensiya.

“These technologies vary from protective and precision agriculture, organic agriculture, food processing and development, agricultural information and communications management, and even biotechnology,” anito.

Nabanggit din ng kalihim ang pagnanais ng DA na makapagtatag ng research and development center sa Abra upang higit pang mapaunlad ang inobasyon doon ng mga magsasaka.

“We will see to it that DA will do its share in turning this facility into reality, thus showcasing the bamboo products,” aniya.
