PH agri-aqua, natural resources masisilip sa DOST eLibrary

ANG Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) at ang Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) ay magkasamang nagpatupad ng isang proyekto na magpapahintulot sa publiko na mag-access at mag-download online para sa mga libreng publikasyon sa sektor ng agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) se.

Ang proyekto, “Accelerating DOST-PCAARRD Knowledge Network ng E-libraries”, ay nagbukas ng daan para sa paglikha ng isang eLibrary, na maaaring ma-access sa pamamagitan ng https://elibrary.pcaarrd.dost.gov.ph/.

“Thousands of AANR-related publications that are funded by the Council and are packaged in different forms such as journals, books, articles, and theses, among others, can be found in the portal,” sinabi ng DOST-PCAARRD sa isang pahayag.

Sinabi nito na inaasahang maitatatag ng proyekto ang network ng eLibraries gamit ang DOST-STII na binuo na Science Library Information Management System (SLIMS). Ang mga kasosyo ng PCAARRD sa mga rehiyon, ang regional R&D consortia ay kasangkot sa proyekto.

“Through SLIMS, the project will support the consortia in facilitating efficient organization, digitization, processing, and resource sharing of S&T resources in their base agency libraries among stakeholders,” sinabi ng Council.

“Likewise, it aims to promote the knowledge hub to expand the user base of the eLibrary and create awareness of the publications it hosts,” dagdag nito.

Sinabi ng PCAARRD na ang pakikipagsosyo nito sa STII, at consortia ay naglalayong mapabuti ang features ng SLIMS, palawakin ang nilalaman ng eLibrary, pahalagahan ang mga kasanayan at serbisyo sa library, at bumuo ng isang unified knowledge management system para sa advanced user experience, bukod sa iba pa.

“The result of this one-year intervention is anticipated to set the standard across library management systems across DOST and other government agencies,” sinabi ng Council.

Nabanggit na ang mga pagpapahusay ng eLibrary ay bumubuo sa bahagi ng PCAARRD’s Knowledge Management for AANR (KM4AANR) pati na rin ang GALINGPCAARRD Program na nakasentro sa isang mahusay at mabisang pagbabahagi ng kaalaman ng AANR S&T sa pagitan ng konseho at ng network ng knowledge network nitonsa ilalim ng new normal.
