SEVEN persons were killed as police conducted operations against illegal drugs in Cavite and Laguna, from Friday night to early Saturday, police reported.

The latest operation, carried out around 7 a.m. Saturday, led to the death of “high value target” Christopher Alain Alvero and two still unidentified men in Brgy. San Ignacio, San Pablo City, Laguna, Calabarzon regional police spokesperson Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran said.

Members of the city police, Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Provincial Intelligence Branch raided Alvero’s home for alleged violation of the Comprehen-

sive Dangerous Drugs Law and Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, Gaoiran said.

Alvero apparently sensed the presence of authorities and fired shots so the operatives fired back, hitting him and two others, Gaoiran said.

Two other persons, identified as Joy Alvero and Enrico Eric Suasi, were arrested while nine firearms and some explosives were seized.

Alvero is ranked eighth in the provincial list of high-value targets and is reportedly behind some shooting incidents in San Pablo, where he is also known as a big time distributor of illegal drugs, Gaoiran said.

Earlier, around 2:30 a.m., two men identified as Rodelito Pelayo and Artjule Sarinas were killed when they shot it out with policemen who conducted a buy-bust operation at the boundary of Brgys. Tabon 1 and Gahak, Kawit, Cavite.

The two, along with another cohort, connived in selling a medium-sized sachet of shabu, Gaoiran said.

Operatives are still tracking down the cohort, identified as a certain “Joey Komang,” after he escaped aboard a motorcycle, she said.

Meanwhile, another drug suspect was killed in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Paradahan 2, Tanza, around 1 a.m.

The suspect, identified as “Marjun Martinez,” also shot it out with operatives when they were about to arrest him for selling P200 worth of shabu, Gaoiran said.

Hours earlier, around 11:30 p.m. Friday, one Roberto Glori was also killed when he resisted arrest in another buy-bust operation in Brgy. San Jose, General Mariano Alvarez town, she said. — John Roson
