2 kids killed by nanny’s ex-partner

Bandera (Visayas) - - News - —John Roson

TWO children, aged four and 10-months, were killed when they were stabbed by their nanny’s former live-in partner, at their home in Surallah, South Cotabato, police said.

Suspect Jorge Judilla, 48, later tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself in the stomach, Central Mindanao regional police spokesman Supt. Aldrin Gonzales said.

Siblings Cherish Joy, 4, and Janna Grace Pamplona, 10 months, died while being treated at the hospital for multiple stab wounds.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Pamplonas' home in Zone VI, Brgy. Libertad.

Investigation indicated that the children's nanny, Ellen Labatos, broke up with Judilla days before the incident.

Judilla then visited Labatos at her workplace and confronted the nanny, who said she made up her mind and would never see him again, Gonzales said.

That prompted Judilla to stab Labatos, but the latter was not hit and was able to seek help from neighbors.

Judilla was then left inside the house and upon seeing the Pamplona children, he also stabbed them, Gonzales said.

It was learned that the children's parents were not at home at the time of the incident, and their eldest sibling was in school.

Local police are conducting further investigation into the incident, Gonzales said.
