THE EXHIBIT
opens on April 23 and runs until May 22 at the MO_Space gallery at Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig. The artist presents a series of allegories on the dual nature of the human psyche — the liminal space between the ethical and bestial, between instinct and morality‚ through assemblage and sculpture. Tuazon was a recipient of the CCP Thirteen Artists Award in 2003. His body of work ranges from painting, sculpture, installation, and performance. Tuazon was a founding member of pioneering art collectives such as the Surrounded By Water in the 1990s and the Neo-Angono Artists Collective, founded in 2004.

1335MABINI presents an exhibition organized by Kiri Dalena, titled featuring works by Kiri and Aba Dalena, Aubrey Llamas, Jose Olarte, Jippy Pascua, Jeffrie Po, John Torres, Mordz Visitacion, and Lina Zacher. Primarily featuring selected works in video and photography, the roster of visual artists, filmmakers, and photographers focus their lens on the current plight of the — the indigenous people of Mindanao. Meanwhile, Ernest Concepcion will hold his second solo exhibition at 1335MABINI titled
His new works explore possibilities in painting in relation to photograph-based imagery and abstraction. Concepcion was cited last year as one of the CCP Thirteen Artists awardees. The exhibits open on April 23. 6 p.m. Dalena’s show runs until June 24, while Concepcion’s ends on May 20. The gallery is located at 1335 Mabini St., Ermita, Manila.
