Bigger is better: IPC shows dominance in latest Truck Fest
FOLLOWING THE SERIES of successful truck festivals held all over the Philippines in 2015, which bolstered its hold of the number one spot in the truck market that year, Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) moved its “heavyweights” over to the bay side of Metro Manila as it held its 2016 Isuzu Truck Fest from April 14 to 16 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Once more, IPC put on an intimidating display of size and strength in its haulers, showcas- ing to visitors, dealers and entrepreneurs the main reasons it has been the leading assembler and distributor of commercial vehicles and trucks for 16 years straight.
In 2015, IPC sold 4,469 trucks and buses, translating to a 51% share of the truck market.
In a 2015 interview with Joseph T. Bautista, IPC marketing head, a truck fest would normally generate around 30- unit sales. “But much more than just selling trucks, the Truck Fest is more
about learning more about our clients and their needs, and IPC providing the answers to their needs,” he explained.
At the three- day Truck Fest, these “answers” were in full display, with 19 of these trucks ranging from the best- selling light commercial N- Series ( which has cornered 70% of Isuzu’s truck sales), the mediumduty F- Series ( 25% share), and the hulking C- and E- Series models offering the size, versatility, and power for every transport and logistics challenge.
More than just providing muscle to entrepreneurs’ transport systems, IPC says it has nurtured confidence among its clientele, thus the truck event’s theme of “Trucks for Life.”
“One of the key ingredients in our partnership with our clients is the trust that has been forged through time, and which is emblazoned in every Isuzu vehicle,” said Hajime Koso, president of IPC. “Isuzu trucks
are not merely figures in the company’s sales report, but are testaments to the security and assurance that they provide to customers. Isuzu is a responsible partner for life.”
During the Truck Fest, IPC provided guests relevant information on the benefits of purchasing brand- new trucks, and outlined the risks involved in choosing used ones.
“We are happy that there are small business owners who are starting to buy brand-new trucks. This is really what we want to happen, to encourage them to buy brand-new units and see its advantages,” Mr. Koso had shared in a 2015 interview.
The company also treated on- site customers to P10,000 worth of fuel cards, P10,000 worth of LTO registration services, and P10,000 worth of parts coupons. According to Mr. Koso, both activities are meant to show IPC’s gratitude toward Filipino consumers.
