Acer brings new DLP projectors
ACER Philippines aims to strengthen its position in the local projector market by introducing two new models from its line of (digital light processing) DLP projectors.
“We have sustained a formidable market share due to our strong channel management and quality- based products,” Faith Kuo, Acer’s Business Manager for Projectors said in a statement. For the projector market, Acer claims it cornered 32.5% market share in the Philippines as of first quarter of 2016.
The Taiwanese PC maker also said its projectors sales are driven by strong demand from business sectors and the academe. “Most of the total projector market is coming from the academe and SMB’s (small and medium businesses). The Academe comprises of about 54% while SMB’s comprise 21%,” Ms. Kuo said, citing figures from market research firm IDC.
Two new DLP models being introduced in the Philippine market — Acer X117H and ES-12 — are said to be lightweight, low-maintenance and are capable of producing high definition images.
The DLP projectors feature a Digital Micromirror Device Chip (DMD), which, according to Ms. Kuo, projects from a thousand mirrors to compose a high-definition image.
Acer said its X117H model features better brightness and contrast ratio compared to other projectors in the market.
“Two biggest highlight features of the X117H is its brightness and contrast ratio,” Ms. Kuo explained in a press brief. “It now has 3,600 brightness compared to the mainstream brightness of 3,200 Lumens and 20,000:1 contrast ratio compared to the mainstream contrast ratio.”
Meanwhile, the Acer ES-12 has a standard resolution of 800 x 600, which can be maximized to a supported 1920 x 1200 resolution. It features 3,000 lumens of color brightness and, just like the X117H, it has a contrast ratio of 20,000:1.
The projectors support a standard screen ratio of 4:3 and a compatible aspect ratio of 16:9. These projectors have a minimum projection distance of one meter and maintain quality image at a maximum of 11.80 meters.
The Acer X117H retails for P22,990, while the Acer ES-12 is priced at P18,999.
